Studio Ghibli Movies
Hello!
Recently I've really been on a Studio Ghibli kick. I wanted to make a post about the ones that I have watched most recently, give my review, and also some of the best reviews that I found on Letterboxd.
Kiki's Delivery Service
I have to say I think this one is my current favorite but I also think that it's a fluid scale. It's so magical and exactly what I wanted to be doing at 13 years old. Actually, it's what I still want to be doing. I want to be doing little tasks for townspeople with my magic and living with my cat over a bakery.Ponyo
I have owned this movie on DVD for years and never watched it but now I finally have. This movie is so cute!! Also by the way, what a stacked cast??? Something I really love about Ghibli is that they never fail to really represent how loud and annoying small children can be. Ponyo would be a nightmare to babysit. Additionally, the mother in this movie should be either arrested or awarded for her driving.
Howl's Moving Castle
A personal favorite and comfort film, this was one of many in a long list of rewatches and it never fails me. I'm really sort of at a loss for words when it comes to this movie, it's got magic, love, and incredibly wrinkly old women which is a Ghibli staple. I would commit certain crimes to live this life.

Spirited Away
Watched this instead of the Superbowl (don't worry I didn't miss Usher on roller skates) and it was so worth it. Say what you will but I will always love a story about a young girl on a journey to find herself and help others along the way. I did think that it was interesting how many times this 10-year-old gets threatened with extreme violence but maybe that's just a me thing.
