2024 : a whole new year of fashion fads
Hello all!
6. Low- rise jeans

Today is technically the first official day of winter (wow!), which means the New Year is about to ring in and with it a whole new year of weird fashion fads! Now this post may seem a bit less "me" but that is because I'm suffering from what I like to call "back home brain rot" where I can't seem to produce any new ideas. Actually, I have quite a lot of ideas but none of them are particularly interesting or blog-worthy. Some of them are just sad or weird. The real problem is that most of them are Doctor Who-related. I sincerely doubt that most of you care tbh.
SO
here are some trends that fashion experts (people on the internet) predict for the upcoming year:
the idea here is that the 2010's are making a comeback, which in my opinion could be good or bad, there are some things we should leave behind for sure.
1. Leopard/ cheetah/ snake Print
Ok, starting off strong I personally dislike animal print but since it was so big 15 years ago, it's possibly making its way back around. It will most likely be seen on coats and bags the most but I have a feeling maybe it will infect tights as well. It won't infect me though!
moving on
2. Chunky earrings and necklaces
I have seen a resurgence of charm bracelets and I think that mixed with the more grunge look that is becoming popular will make for some very interesting statement pieces. The chunky earrings have been big on runways recently which means they will probably eventually make their way down to the masses. I had a phase in middle and high school where I wore event-specific earrings. I even had ones for science class although I doubt that's the route most people will be taking.
3. slim pants
Frankly, I couldn't care less about slim-leg pants. If they were wiped off the face of the planet I would be fine. What can I say I'm a wide-leg gal. Anyways, wide-leg has had its time in the sun the last couple of years so it is time to cycle back around. They are so incredibly uninteresting but if you're into that, congrats!
4. capris
Similar to the straight leg pants except I wore these a lot as a kid. That first picture is Gigi Hadid so you know the style has some sort of power to it. They remind me too much of pantaloons for me to really be into them but I do think that the cargo pants version is better than the jean version.
5. peplum tops
I have already seen a mass of people online saying that peplum tops should be back and that they looked flattering on everyone. I hate them. In their defense, I don't think any newer ones will look quite like the ones pictured above that were so popular in the 2010s. I can only hope that they somehow make them more bearable, or at least not as bright.
Ok, this one is more of a 2000s throwback but I do think it will be popular next year. Low-rise jeans and pants in general are so fun to me and I want them to become popular again so that I don't have to scour Depop to find one pair for $50. Don't get me wrong I do not enjoy the way they feel on my body and I'm always afraid they are going to pull down too far but sometimes beauty is pain and you have to sacrifice comfort for fashion. I also love high-waisted jeans because both mess with the way people perceive your proportions.
That's it for now but let me know if there are any trends you want back or if there are any you would pay someone to assassinate, I'd love to know. Ok see ya!
